1. Hole
During looping, one or several yarns are broken and loops ladder, called as hole.
2. Missed stitch
The yarns are not broken, but pinhooksdo not mat new yarns, causing straight defects of loops laddering, called as missed stitch. Missed stitch caused by needles on dial is called as inner missed stitch while missed stitch caused by needles on cylinder is called as outer missed stitch.
3. Floricome
During looping, old loops eat new yarns without breaking away from pinhooks, causing new loops. The new loops overlap with old loops together. The defect is called as floricome, classified into straight bar floricome and decentralized floricome.
4. Garter
Garter is a special type of floricome. A needle loops continuously for several times without taking off old loops, resulting in several loops concentrating under hooks. The defect is called as garter.
5. Filling bar
Loose or tight stripes are formed on vertical cloth cover, called as filling bar.
6. Soft sides
After a yarn being broken, needles cannot mat new yarns for looping, causing certain lone defects on horizontal cloth cover, called as soft sides.
7. Stripe
Loops in several rows change periodically from large to small and small to large, showing uneven horizontal implicit articles which are called as stripe.
