Rapid development of the Internet changes people’s lifestyle. Meanwhile, it also changes patterns of production, management and profit in
knitting enterprises. As a manufacturing power, cost advantage in China is being weakened.
Establishing intelligent factory is an important direction for developing knitting industry. The combination of machinery and electronic technique highly promotes
knitting equipment to advance. Intelligence will bring higher improvement to the whole industry. The development of knitting industry can be divided into three phases. The first phase is digitization. The information of production, products and others is transferred into digitals, convenient for collection, storage, management and distribution. The phrase has already been realized in China. The second phrase is network. Production and sales are connected by network, sharing information and enhancing industrial interaction. The last phrase is intelligence. Use the Internet of Thins and big data to realize remote control, improving efficiency and reducing labors. During the period of informatization in China from junior to senior, hysteretic software development, insufficient integration of R&D, misunderstanding acquaintance, lack of information sharing, asymmetric information and imperfect analysis still exist. Promoting intelligence in industry is a new subject. Some large enterprises have acquired successful experience while most of enterprises still exist in the phrase of local application.
At present, knitting industry is facing with several challenges. First of all, traditional production technology cannot afford to deal with large data. Secondly, how to transfer mass data to effective service and supply to customers is the bottleneck for realizing intelligent production and factory. With the combination of industrialization and informatization gradually advancing in China, Chinese knitting enterprise should actively explore how to establish showcase production line of knitted products, realizing integration of Internet of Thins for production, storage and e-commerce, also including updating and sustainable development of the whole knitting industry chain.
